First T. K. Madhavan Memorial Intercollegiate Elocution Competition

On 13 March 2018
Organised by Literary club & PTA

The PTA of the college collaborated with T K Madhavan cultural centre to host the first T K Madhavan Memorial intercollegiate elocution competition to commemorate the great reformer and freedom fighter and his services to revolutionise the Kerala society. The onus of organizing the prestigious event on 13 March 2019 was entrusted to the literary club and its coordinator Mr. Vishnu Chandran.
The enthusiasm shown by the students from various colleges to participate in the competition was beyond the imagination of the organizers that the competition which began at 10.30 am came to a close at 2.00 pm. Though the topic, “Kerala Renaissance and T K Madhavan,” was given only 5 minutes before the competition, it was clear from their speeches that the participants made intense research, extended copious reflection and showed careful precision in sharing their understanding of the topic.
The speeches were so exciting that the judges, though experienced, found themselves in a tight spot to adjudge the winners. However, in a closely fought competition Miss. Veena Lakshmi K.S, BCom Second year student of NSS College   Cherthala  emerged victorious to gain the first prize and a cash award of `3001,  Naveen S of  T K M M  College  bagged the second  prize and a purse of  `2001.  Sreelakshmi S got the third prize and a cash award of `1001.
