Seminar on Green energy from bio resources

Nature Club organized a seminar on Green energy from bio resources on 6th January 2020. The resource Person was Dr.Vinod Haridas, Asst.Prof & Head, Department of Botany, TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara. Prof P Sreemon made the presidential address. Dr.P.P Sharmila inaugurated the function. The resource person gave a detailed description of green energy and the bio resources for it. Bioenergy is renewable energy produced from organic matter called biomass such as plants, which contain energy from sunlight stored as chemical energy. Bioenergy producers can convert this energy into liquid transportation fuel called biofuel through a chemical conversion process at a biorefinery. Or, they convert this energy into heat and electricity called biopower through processes such as direct combustion. He concluded his talk by the fact that in the form of biofuel or biopower, bioenergy can power vehicles homes, and even airplanes. Smt.Mini R, Asso.Prof & Head, Department of Hindi, Dr.Arun S Prasad (IQAC Coordinator & H.o.D,Physics) and Sri.Abhilash Y, Asst. Prof. in Malayalam (on con.) are felicitated in the function.
