Nangiarkulangara:
As a part of the National youth week celebration, the NSS volunteers of T. K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara conducted series of programmes in offline & offline modes under the banner "Activating Youth"
The celebrations began on Jan 12th.
Today the volunteers were told to  watch and prepare a review on the movie *The great Indian kitchen*. മഹത്തായ ഭാരതീയ അടുക്കള.  Based on the reviews, a small discussion took place in the virtual platform among the NSS volunteers and the programme officer Smt. Preetha. M. V moderated the session.

The movie`the great Indian kitchen´  talks about the culture of oppression and the traditional means that have been perfected over generation to keep women subservient to men.
The movie not only showcased the challenges faced by women in their daily life but also taught how to ensure freedom and equality for women so that they can flourish & Cherish her dreams.
Many of the volunteers came forward and shared their experiences and feelings over the film.Programme officer Smt. Preetha. M. V also shared her experiences, told the volunteers to stop saying about women empowerment and instead start working for that.
The welcome speech was delivered by the NSS volunteer secretary N. Nihal Muhammed and vote of thanks was delivered by Sruthy. S. The complete programme taught the volunteers that gender discrimination and gender gap  should not exist. Despite which gender, a girl or a boy, he or she should be  self reliant. for that we may have to break the age old customs & superstions that is prevailing in our society. The film throws light to the darkened " great indian kitchens " and gives a message to democratize Kitchen.

What we want really  is not modular kitchens, but moden minded  model Kitchens.
