Read Aloud & Read In

16 , 20  & 21June 2022

In connection with the National Reading Day celebration, Department of English in association with Reading Club organised a reading session Read Aloud  on 16 June 2022. First year students of English and Economics department participated in the session. Mrs. Remya V R, convenor of Reading Club monitored the session.

 Read In, a book review session was conducted on 20 & 21 June 2022.

The first session began with an introduction to the Reading week celebration by Mrs. Athira M Raj, Assistant Professor, Dept. Of English.Mrs. Remya V R ,convenor of Reading Club delivered a speech on the importance of reading.  Ms. Shreya Sasikumar shared her reading experience of the novella ,The Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway. Ms.Avani P shared her views on the short story ‘Haritha mohanam’ by Susmesh Chandroth.

The second session was held on 21 June. Ms. Praveena  S Kumar exchanged her views on reading the book Dying to be Me by Anita Morjani. Ms. Kashikripa S shared her reading experience of the book  Kalki (part2) by Kevin Misal. The session was monitored by Mrs. Sangeetha Hariharan and Mrs. Remya V R from the Department of English.

Both the sessions were so effective. Students from the Department of English , Chemistry and Physics attended the review sessions. This initiative was well appreciated by other departments also. So as to improve the reading skills and habit the Department and Reading Club have decided to continue this programme on weekly basis.
