World book day
NSS volunteers undertook variety of programmes to spread the importance of reading books. Students distributed books to neighbouring children to induce reading interest among them.
Last year in connection with National library day ( June19) the unit had begun "amma vayana ”( അമ്മ വായന ) an initiative to facilitate reading among ladies. This program indented to inculcate the habit of sharing household duties equally and to enable the mothers to use their spare time for reading.
Volunteers gave books among housewives and children nearby their houses.
Volunteers collected books to distribute in various libraries and to other centres in coming days.
Volunteers also arranged books and shelves in the college and kept the library in order.
