Brief report of the meeting:
An Investor Awareness Programme in association with Apex Academy, Kochi was conducted for the S1 B. Com Computer Application and S1 Bcom Travel and Tourism students on 20/11/2021 at 11 am, in online mode via Google Meet. In the programme, a variety of topics were discussed regarding savings, investment, share market, SEBI, mutual funds and the do' s and don’t s of an investor.
The programme was commenced by Divya. P. Bhadran, (HOD of Department of Commerce). Ms. Nisha Manoharan,( Tutor S1Bcom Computer Application), introduced the chief guest of the programme, Mr. Manoj. T. Neelakantan, the Managing Partner and Lead Trainer of Apex Academy Kochi. He started the session by talking about the importance of creating awareness among the investors.
After that a lengthy interactive session was conducted by the Chief Guest Mr. Manoj. T. Neelakantan, about the Indian stock market and the process of buying shares. The major topics which were discussed during the session are:
SEBI, the regulatory authority of stock market in India, three key mandates of SEBI and its major works.
Types of Public issue in Primary Market -IPO, FPO, Right issue, Bonus issue, Private placement.
3- in – One account- Bank account, Trading account and Demat account.
Basic rules of investing- Good management, growing profit and a healthy balance sheet.
How to find information about a company- Industry analysis, current profit, financial ratios, management track record and future projects.
How to take professional help through Stock brockers, Mutual fund distributors and registered investment advisors.
Rights of the shareholders.
Do's and Don’t s of investing in Indian Securities Market
Advices to the investors in Indian stock Market.
Modes of placing orders in Indian Stock Market.
Contract Note – Meaning, contents and the process of receiving contract notes.
How to settle buy and sell trade in stock exchanges.
Depository, services offered by depository and pledge.
After the session is over He send a feedback form to the students and asked them to fill up. He also asked whether students have any doubts regarding the topics discussed in the session. After that vote of thanks is delivered by Ms. Jerry Thomas,( Tutor S1 Bcom Travel and Tourism)and the programme was successfully got over at 12.pm
