SEMINAR ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Intellectual property rights (IPR) refers to the legal rights given to the inventor or creator to protect his invention or creation for a certain period of time. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness is critical to shaping an environment that is conducive to fostering creativity & innovation in the country. One of the key focus areas is students, as it is essential to nurture creativity and the ability to innovate from a young age. In this context one day seminar on IPR was jointly organized by the College Library, the Department of Zoology and National IP awareness mission on 21st November 2022 at the College Seminar Hall as part of the National Library Week. The seminar was presided over by our respected principal Dr PP Sharmila. In her presidential address she gave an overview of IPR. Smt. Rakhi Raj, UGC Librarian and the coordinator of this programme welcomed the event.The key note speaker was Ms Lavanya Madduri , Examiner of patent & design and NIPAM Trainer , Intellectual property Office, Chennai. She has given an encouraging speech for the students and added that there is a lot of scope in IPR. The class was a motivating experience for the students and was concluded by 1 pm. Dr. Arun S Prasd HoD, Dept. of Physics and Dr S Sheela HoD Dept. of Zoology offered felicitation. Dr. Vinod Haridas, HoD, Department of Botany expressed the vote of thanks. The session as enriched by105 participants including teachers. The Session was enriching for the participants and it ended with an interactive session. Our college provided a strong support in the co-ordination of the back stage activities.
