Celebration of International Day of Mathematics, March 2022
Department of Mathematics celebrated the International Day of Mathematics by conducting programmes to students as well as for Faculties. Every year the international Day of Mathematics is celebrating on March 14. It is also celebrated as Pi Day. The theme for the 2022 International Day of Mathematics is 'Mathematics Unites', which means 'Mathematics is a common language we all have and a common subject with which to find one another'. Department organized the Photo Challenge : Can you take a picture with Mathematics? for the students of various departments. Mr.Rahul Devarajan from S3 Chemistry got the First prize. Ms. Bhagyasree S from S3 Mathematics was awarded the Second prize. Certificate of participation was given to all participants. After that various cultural events were performed by the Students.Principal Dr.Sharmila P.P inaugurated the function by explaining the difference between a Mathematical constant and a physical constant. Students were also participated in the discussion. Smt. Renjini S, the Head of the Department gave the presidential address. The Co ordinator of the programme Smt. Sinumol S welcomed all. Sri.M.K Sreenivasan, Asst. Professor of the Department made the vote of thanks.The programme ended with National Anthem.
Plants perform arithmetic division...the calculations allow them to use up their starch reserves at constant rates....their morphology and anatomy are based on mathematics
